When you get a new puppy chances are you will have to train him in one of the key tools that you will use is a dog collar and leash.  The collar will help keep your dog in place while the leash will help you control his movements. You can buy all types of different collars and leashes for any size and strength of dog at your local pet store or even online.

The very basic and widely used dog collar and leash are the flat collars and leash in buckle or quick release collar. With a flat collar and leash, puppies are trained by a simple recall-reward technique, that is, they are commanded to, for example, catch a ball by throwing a ball in a short meter at first and if they responded to the command "fetch" they will be rewarded by feeding them with dog stick and loosening the leash by a few meters more, until such time that the dogs respond automatically with the fetch command even without the dog collar and leash.

One of the best dog collar and leash combinations to get your puppy to stop barking is a martingale collar and leash edge tightens up the neck when you type on the leash in a jerky manner.  This is not choke the dog but tightens the caller leaving the airways free.  When you notice that you dog is going to go on a barking binge you simply snapped the leash which tightens the caller and distracts him from the behavior.  This also creates a zipping sound which is an added distraction and a warning to stop the behavior so the caller will loosen up.

Training your dog is a challenging task but a good opportunity for you to bond with your pet.  Remember persistence and patience pays off in the long run!
